NetHub Participates in the 7th International Innovation Festival: GIANT Health Event

From November 30 to December 1, 2021, London hosted the 7th international innovation festival in the field of healthcare technology—GIANT (Global Innovation and New Technology) Health Event. Founded by successful serial entrepreneur Barry Shrier, this event has been Europe’s largest and most significant digital health gathering for seven years. It is an essential innovation festival featuring more than 25 conferences, 450 speakers, and numerous workshops and startup competitions. Its primary goal is to connect leading HealthTech entrepreneurs and promote sectoral innovations to improve human health and well-being.

GIANT Health is an innovation-focused global business community of nearly 200,000 users in the fields of healthcare, digital technology, and innovation, including our NetHub business accelerator. At the GIANT festival, NetHub representative Marko Mimica and sensor technology expert Associate Professor Petar Šolić, PhD, paid special attention to the Wayra UK Demo Day and the international startup competition—Beanstalks Pitching. During the Wayra UK Demo Day, six international startups and scaleups were presented, introducing participants to their innovative solutions for improving patient care. Jan Beger, Senior Director of Digital Ecosystems at GE Healthcare, also contributed by sharing the mission, vision, and challenges of the first cohort of the Edison™ Accelerator. As part of the Beanstalks Pitching competition, 11 digital health startups presented their innovative ideas in just 10 minutes; the winner was Sano Genetics, a company dedicated to accelerating the development of personalized medicine.

Participating in the GIANT Health Event provided invaluable insight into global markets and trends, the latest technologies, and innovative solutions. It also facilitated the exchange of creative ideas and the discovery of partners for new business opportunities.
